Nobody chooses the winning tile: a public randomness beacon does, and the contract checks it.
Every round is decided by a drand beacon: a random number published every 3 seconds by the League of Entropy, a group of independent organisations.
The game contract checks the beacon's signature itself, on Elysium, before it accepts a result. A wrong or invented beacon is rejected.
Each round uses the first beacon at least 15 seconds after it closes, fixed by the round's first deposit. Nobody, elle.money included, can see it early or change which one counts.
Once the beacon is out, anyone can submit it. If a round can't be settled within a day, everyone on it gets their HYPE back.
7% to ELLE stakers, 2% to the jackpot, 2% buys ELLE for later rounds, 1% to elle.money.
The ledger links every round to its beacon on drand's public record.
Each round is settled by a drand beacon checked on-chain. Anyone can re-check a draw against drand's public record.
Lock ELLE for a share of every round's fee, paid in HYPE. Longer locks weigh more. Claim any time.

How elle.money works, in short. Ask an assistant to explain any part.
elle.money is a mining game on Elysium, Hyperliquid's L2, run by Elle. One round at a time: a minute to play, then a 30-second break while it's decided.
Each round you put HYPE on tiles of a 5×5 grid. When the round closes, a drand beacon picks one tile. Everyone on it splits the round's HYPE in proportion to what they put in, and mines ELLE.
If nobody is on the winning tile, the HYPE and ELLE roll over into the next round.
